Action Program 168 - IPR Violation Enforcement (April 11, 2007)

The Ministries of Science and Technology, Culture and Information, Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance, Trade, and Public Security together organized a conference on March 29 at the International Convention Center in Hanoi to review one-year implementation of the Action Program 168 - Cooperation to Prevent Intellectual Property Rights Violations, 2006-2010.

In 2006, Vietnam adopted the Intellectual Property Law and for the first time the seven ministries accepted Action Program 168 to address IPR violations.

So far, the IPR protection forces at five ministries and in provinces have inspected 21,935 facilities and dealt with 5,739 organizations that have violated IPRs. Violators have been fined more than VND11 billion.
